MAAIKE ANDRIESSEN.

Hi! my name is Maaike Andriessen and I am a passionate dressmaker and founder of The Dressmakers Academy.
25 years ago, I took my first sewing lesson in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and a lifelong passion was born!

My first job as a dressmaker was at a bridal Couture House where my love for beautiful fabrics and couture sewing techniques was ignited.
Since then, I have worked at several bridal houses,
ran my own workshop and worked for many private
and commercial clients.

One of the highlights so far in my career was working
on a gown for our beautiful Dutch Queen Maxima.

Other clients I have worked with:
Het bruids arsenaal, van Os bruidsmode, Claes Iversen, Leon Klaassen Bos, Igone de Jongh, Under Amour, Heineken and currently the United Ucrainian Ballet on the production of Giselle.
To share my passion and knowledge, I founded The Dressmakers Academy in 2018.

The Dressmakers Academy is based at an ancient tower in the lovely city of Edam, I teach on- and offline sewing courses and I organize sewing retreats and international couture trips.

Next to teaching, I am available for private assignments and sewing orders. Feel free to contact me.
